Make Free Internet Phone Calls From Bridgewater State College

I did this research and posted this information for my younger brother who attends Bridgewater State College.

I hope this helps you get in touch with your friends and family (for free) anywhere on campus.

Give this a try. I tried Skype free from work, and it works great. The calls were crisp and clear! My laptop has a built-in microphone that I can't see, a web cam, and internal speakers. I plugged in my regular headsets that I use to listen to music, so no one can hear the other side of the conversation, and off I was making phone calls - privately in my office! It took all of 5 minutes to setup Skype.

If after using the free service, you like Skype, then you can buy the unlimited service plan for $2.95/month. You can even buy a Skype phone to plug into your computer if the mic and headphones become a pain to use.

If you get sick of the computer all together, you can buy a Skype WIFI phone, and use it all over campus.

To make free phone calls from Bridgewater State college:

1) If you haven't already, set up your laptop to get free WIFI from Bridgewater State college. According to their website, "100% of campus has access to wireless internet." Visit the page below.

All you need is your BSC user account. If you don't have an account, then create one on the web page below. Note: to obtain your username and password, you must have a phone that is able to receive text messages.

You don't need a BSC account right away to access Skype and make free calls. You should be able to use a Guest Account.

2) Once you have internet access on your laptop, then follow these instructions.
