My Westell 327W Wireless Router Wouldn't Connect To My New Vista Laptop

Brown bought us new laptops to accommodate moving to an IIS 7/Visual Studio 2008 web development environment.
They purchased Dell Precisions MM4400 models. Very nice and powerful but heavy with a 15.4" screen. The laptop arrived with Windows Vista Ultimate; however, for some reason I couldn't get VS2005 to stop throwing the following error.
"Error:Could not Load File or Assembly
> 'System.EnterpriseServices.Wrapper.dll' or One ofIts Dependencies"
After massive research, everything pointed to a corrupt .NET 2.0 framework. Reinstalling 2.0 and even reinstalling VS2005 didn't work. I tried everything. So, we decided to send the laptop to PC support and have them clean it and reload the OS. However, this time they used Windows Vista Enterprise, so Norton Ghost could take an image of the laptop. This time all works fine.
So, then I took the laptop home and attempted to connect it to my Westell 327W Wireless Router without any success. I still had the old laptop with WIndows XP, which connected fine so I knew that the router was okay. Just something about Vista that didn't want to work with my router's open WEP security configuration. I know this because when I turned off the WEP security on my router, the Vista laptop immediately connected. Luckily that presented a hint, which allowed me to move forward with finding a solution.

It took me 3 hours of troubleshooting to figure out the problem. I hope this helps someone else out there, too.
All I did was configure my router from using WEP to WPA-PSK (more secure) and used the same 10-digit code I had always used. That's it. My Vista Enterprise laptop immediately connected. The strange thing now is that I have to re-enter the 10-digit code every time I turn on the computer, but I'll figure that out later! Just happy I can connect to the internet from my laptop now.
This is the post that prompted me to change to WPA-PSK:
