Step 2 - Assembling Gazebo - So I thought
So, on June 27 I attempted to construct the new gazebo, but it didn't fit the other way. Wow - had to extend the other side and build onto the other step, too. How disappointing it was, since I thought I was all done.
All went fine. I went back to Home Depot and purchased the same pieces of wood as before and cut them to size. I'm not thrilled that I no longer have a step that wraps around the deck; however, next summer is another year.
On July 3rd put the gazebo together. Wow...very hard to do without a second person. It does take two people for this one. I have put together many gazebos by now, and this one is by far the hardest. Although, with what happened with the one that collapsed, I welcome a heavy sturdy gazebo that won't fall apart after one season. So, I strayed from the instructions since they were outrageously difficult. It would have resulted in needing another set of hands.

So, that's it...my gazebo saga has ended finally! Because the gazebo has a 9 inch overhang on each side, it actually covers the entire 11.5' x 11.5' deck. So, the over hang that is up against the garage now fully protects the electrical outlet from the rain. That's a plus. Also, I agree with all the reviews I have read. The netting is poorly fitted around the gazebo, so mosquitos and bugs can still get it. However, any netting minimizes the bug action.
